Bhutan Workshop

lessonsEDU's Asian Continent Coordinator, Atanu Lahiri was recently in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan, known as 'Land of Happiness'. He was there to provide basic chess training to 30 School Sports Instructors. This was at the initiative of the All India Chess Federation (because Bhutan does not yet have its own chess federation) and the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Education of Government of Bhutan.

Some of the instructors had travelled for more than two days in order to attend - the country consists mostly of high mountains and some of the 20 Districts are remote from the capital Thimphu where the workshop was held.

Atanu has provided a nicely illustrated report which you can read here.
